Overview
The Community Assistance Program (CAP) Grant provides funding for non-construction costs associated with delivering services such as social support, transportation, employment assistance, housing, legal aid, healthcare, education, and environmental programs. This grant is funded by the City's General Fund, and is currently capped at $50,000 per program year to be distributed to program participants.
The Community Assistance Program (CAP) Grant is similar to the City's historic CDBG Public Service Program but will not be regulated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This grant continues to be managed by Economic Development Division staff.
Grant recipients will be awarded in June of each year through the Hesperia City Council Advisory Committee and Hesperia City Council process, beginning with the publication of the 2025-2026 Notice of Funding Availability. All eligible public service agencies may apply for grant funding through the application process. For more information, contact Connor Biggerstaff at (760) 947-1909 or cbiggerstaff@hesperiaca.gov.
