HESPERIA, Calif. — The City of Hesperia is proud to recognize the generosity and hard work of Mission Crest Elementary School students, who recently held a successful fundraiser to benefit the Hesperia Animal Shelter. Over two weeks, students sold candy grams, raising more than $500 to support the care and well-being of animals in the Shelter.
The initiative was led by dedicated student council members, all in grades 5th and 6th. These young leaders took the reins in planning and overseeing the fundraiser, from organizing logistics to selecting the Hesperia Animal Shelter as the recipient of the funds.
The funds raised will be used to purchase essential supplies for the animals, ensuring they receive the care they need while waiting for their forever homes.
“The City of Hesperia is grateful to the students of Mission Crest Elementary for their incredible generosity and leadership,” said Hesperia Mayor Allison Lee. “Their decision to dedicate their time and efforts to support the Hesperia Animal Shelter demonstrates the compassion and civic spirit that makes our community so special.”
The City of Hesperia applauds the efforts of Mission Crest Elementary’s student council and the entire school community for their kindness and dedication to making a difference. This effort exemplifies the positive impact that can be achieved when youth are empowered to lead and support their community.
