Healthy Hesperia
What is a Healthy Community?
A healthy community is one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive—physically, mentally, and socially. It goes beyond hospitals and clinics. Health is shaped by access to nutritious food, clean air and water, quality education, stable employment, affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and supportive social connections.
Healthy Hesperia
The City of Hesperia is committed to building a healthier future for all residents. Through its “Healthy Hesperia” initiative, the City integrates health and wellness into local decision-making and community planning.
From expanding recreational spaces to improving neighborhood walkability, Hesperia is actively working to create a city where healthy choices are easier and more accessible. The City’s General Plan includes the development of walking trails, parks, greenways, bike lanes, and other community assets that promote an active lifestyle and connect residents to the places they live, work, and play.
“Healthy Hesperia” represents more than infrastructure—it’s about fostering a culture of well-being across generations.
Healthy Hesperia Partners
Creating a truly healthy city requires collaboration. While local government plays a key role, lasting change happens when the entire community is engaged.
That’s why Hesperia works alongside a variety of partners—including the Hesperia Recreation and Park District, Hesperia Unified School District, San Bernardino County departments, health care providers, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses. These partnerships help expand access to programs and services that encourage healthier lifestyles for residents of all ages.
Together, these community partners support initiatives like youth sports and wellness programs, health education, after-school activities, senior fitness classes, and much more.
Our Vision
Healthy Hesperia is a long-term commitment to making health a shared value. By investing in our residents’ well-being today, we’re building a more vibrant, connected, and resilient community for tomorrow.
