There are no vacancies at this time. If you would like to be considered for appointment please submit an application to the City Clerks Office in person or by email at cityclerk@cityofhesperia.us.  Applications will be accepted until appointment has been filled.

COVID-19 City Council Advisory Committee Meeting Notice

In accordance with new community guidelines from the Center for Disease Control to avoid gatherings of more than 10 persons, the City of Hesperia will allow for remote participation in upcoming City Council Advisory meetings until further notice. 

Meetings

  • 6:00 pm at City Hall
  • Meetings are held on 1st Thursday of every quarter (March, June, September and December)
  • City Council Liaison is Council Member Allison Lee

Overview

The City Council Advisory Committee is an advisory resource to the City Council. At the discretion of the City Council, the Advisory Committee shall review the Capital Improvement Project Plan (CIP) including:

  • The recommendation of streets on the annual road paving list 
  • Water and sewer capital expenditures 
  • Traffic flow 
  • Signage 
  • Public safety services including contract performance / costs 
  • Possible expansion of public safety program services and franchised service providers to ensure top quality service and public trust 

The Committee will also review economic development programs and trends to provide recommendations for the economic enhancement of Hesperia, review housing programs and provide recommendations to the Council regarding the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and other applicable financing programs. The City Council Advisory Committee serves as the Board of Appeals for Fire and Building Safety. The Advisory Committee can also perform other duties assigned by the City Council. 

Applications

Applicants must reside within the City of Hesperia and be a United States Citizen as verified by current voter registration with the County Elections Office. For consideration, please submit an online application.  Paper applications are also available and can be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by mail or email.
